Kyoto, Japan
The Kyoto Protocol was signed in Kyoto, Japan in 1997. As a symbol of the city’s commitment to renewable energy and the environment, Kyoto purchased a micro turbine from Mavel to be installed adjacent to the historic Togetsukyo Bridge. In December 2005, one Mavel MT5 turbine, including a modified draft tube, asynchronous generator, electrical and control systems, spare parts, technical documentation and design, was commissioned by Mavel’s Japanese partner Himawari N.E. Co., Ltd. The small 4.5 kW micro plant provides energy to light up a hill behind the bridge – an ongoing visual symbol of Kyoto’s commitment to green energy. Go to Detail and Photo
