Grodnenskaya, Belarus Mavel provided five turbines and related technology for the Grodnenskaya Hydroelectric Power Project in Belarus. The site located on the Newman River with a head of 7 meters utilizes 5 double regulated horizontal, KP3000K4 Kaplan Pit turbines type Mavel KP3000K4. Mavel also supplied the generators, hydraulic units, gearboxes and control systems. The combined installed output is just under 19 MW. Commissioning was in October of 2012. Holyoke Massachusetts, United States Mavel commissioned its first turbine in the US at Unit 1 of Holyoke Gas & Electric's Boatlock Hydroelectric Station. Mavel replaced the existing Francis unit with a double regulated Mavel KVK1600K4 Kaplan turbine coupled with a 240 rpm synchronous generator. The power produced at Boatlock Unit 1 increased more than threefold from about 200kW prior to the rehabilitation to just over 700 kW after the October 2010 commissioning. In addition to the turbine, Mavel provided hydraulic engineering and related equipment, including an elbow draft tube, hydraulic power unit, electric and control systems and the installation supervision. Lovosice, Czech Republic Mavel provided four PIT turbines for the low head 2.64 MW Lovosice Hydroelectric Plant commissioned in 2010. The site which is located on the River Elbe in the Litomerice District of the Czech Republic has a head of 1.9 meters and a total flow of 160m3/s. Mavel supplied four horizontal Kaplan double regulated PIT turbines type Mavel KP3000K3. Total installed power is 3 MW. Mavel also provided the related equipment and services including hydraulic design, gearboxes, generators, lubrication, cooling systems, cleaning machines, trash racks, electrical and control systems and installation and commissioning supervision. Dobrzen, Poland PGE Engergia Odnawialna S.A. of Warsaw contracted Mavel to provide technology for the Dobrzen hydroelectric power plant on the Odra River near Opole, Poland. The site has head of 2.2 meters and flow of 96 cubic meters per second. Mavel is providing two double regulated horizontal Kaplan Pit turbines KP3200K3. The three-bladed turbines have a running diameter of 3200 mm. Mavel also supplied generators, gearboxes, electrical equipment, hydraulic units, transport, design, project documentation and supervision for installation, testing and commissioning. Each of the generating units has an installed capacity of 850 kW. Zawada, Poland Mavel completed the commissioning in May 2006 of the 1.5 MW Zawada hydroelectric power plant on the Odra River in Southern Poland. The plant, owned by HCS Wroclaw, Spolka z.o.o., utilizes two horizontal Kaplan turbines type KP3000K3. Mavel also provided asynchronous generators, gearboxes, hydraulic system, electrical system, lubrication and cooling sets, testing, assembly supervision and commissioning.
