Mavel is a combination of historic Czech engineering expertise and more recent Czech entrepreneurship.
The Beginning
Mavel was founded in 1990 as a hydro engineering firm based in Prague,
Czech Republic. During the first two years, management reinvested profit
to lease space in a manufacturing facility about 50 kilometers southeast
in the town of Benesov. This facility became Mavel’s headquarters
in 1994.
Our Partnership
With growth averaging 60% per year, Mavel’s founders decided to
raise additional capital in order to build the capacity for continued
growth. In 1998, Mavel raised investment capital from a consortium of
European and American investors.
Continued Expansion
New capital allowed Mavel to upgrade its engineering and production facilities
in Benesov and add technical and manufacturing expertise through its purchase in 1997 of CKD TurboTechnics s.r.o. With continuing growth, Mavel maintains its
program of new product development, expansion of manufacturing capability
and investment in personnel development.
