| Benesov, Czech Republic – 28 October 2008 – Mavel, a.s. announced the commissioning last summer of two installations in Norway. Both projects were undertaken with Mavel as a subcontractor to Hydro Production Partner AS of Norway.
The first project Sagfossen hydroelectric power plant is located just north of Oslo and is owned by Mr. Lovenskiold. Mavel provided one Kaplan “Z” turbine – type Mavel KZ850K4, generator, hydraulic unit and electrical equipment. The maximum net head at the site is 10 meters and flow is 4 cubic meters per second. The power plant with installed power of 347 kilowatts was completed one year, six days from contract signing.
The second project North Mangen hydroelectric power plant, also near Oslo, is owned by Bjorn N. Toverud. Mavel provided one Kaplan Bulb turbine – type Mavel KB1050K3 – as well as the generator, hydraulic unit and electrical equipment. This project was completed 15 months from contract signing and has installed power of 163 kW. Head at the site is 3.1 meters and flow is 6 cubic meters per second.
