2005 - Mavel, a.s. announced that it has signed a contract
for the supply, installation and commissioning of the second
turbine and related equipment for the Lesichovo hydro power
plant in Bulgaria. Mavel said that it will deliver the second
horizontal Francis turbines with runner diameter of 650 mm,
hydraulic unit, valve regulators and a synchronous generator.
The site is located about 90 kilometers
from Sophia. The first turbine, delivered by Mavel, was installed
in 2003. Commissioning of the second turbine is expected before
the end of 2005. The plant is expected to have total installed
power of about 3.2 MW. Net head is 57.8 meters and flow is total
6.4 cubic meters per second.
Mavel noted that this is among the largest
of the small hydro plants in Bulgaria and will be the largest
of the new private plants built.
Mavel is a Czech Republic-based manufacturing

hydro-electric power plants from 2 kW to 20 MW. Over the past
